Water Damage Technician

Position Overview: As a Water Damage Restoration Technician at Chem Master Restoration, your primary responsibility is to provide effective restoration services for water-damaged properties. You will utilize specialized equipment and follow industry-standard procedures to mitigate damage, remove excess moisture, and restore affected areas to pre-loss conditions. In addition to restoration tasks, you will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and vehicles used in the restoration process to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Water Damage Restoration:

• Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess water damage situations at customer locations.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including high-powered water extraction units, dehumidifiers, air movers, and moisture detection tools, to mitigate and extract water from affected areas.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment to achieve optimal drying conditions within industry guidelines.
• Remove damaged materials, including carpets, flooring, drywall, and insulation, to prevent further damage and facilitate the drying process.
• Conduct thorough moisture and mold inspections, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions.
• Apply anti-microbial treatments to prevent mold growth and ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform regular inspections and maintenance on all water damage restoration equipment to ensure proper functioning and reliability.
• Clean and disinfect equipment after each use to prevent cross-contamination and maintain sanitary conditions.
• Identify and address equipment issues promptly, either by performing minor repairs or reporting complex problems to the Operations Manager.
• Organize and maintain equipment storage areas, ensuring that all tools and supplies are properly inventoried and readily available for use.

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Conduct routine inspections of Chem Master restoration vehicles, ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements, as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Report any vehicle issues or damage immediately to the Operations Manager for appropriate action.
• Adhere to all traffic regulations and ensure safe driving practices while operating Chem Master vehicles.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices concerning water damage restoration, chemical usage, and waste disposal.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including gloves, goggles, respirators, and protective clothing.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Operations Manager immediately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in water damage restoration or related field is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Familiarity with water damage restoration equipment, techniques, and industry standards is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various environmental conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
